Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and it’s one of my favorite days of the year because it’s all about love. Love for yourself, love for others, love for life. Love.
And in the context of love, my girlfriends and I seem to talk about relationship a lot when we’re together. There seems to be so much fuss, consternation and turmoil around it. It’s hard. I get it because I’ve had a lot of hard in my relationships.
Then there’s the romance part. That’s where love and fun come together. Have you lost the romance part? Many women I talk to don’t want to have intimacy any more. It’s so common. But when we lose intimacy, we lose connection with our partners and we lose extremely beneficial hormones. And we’re wasting such amazing resources like a beautiful companion to love on and a vibrant body, your body…everywhere.
Here are my quick tips to get your romance back, even if it’s painful down there. And then I’ll show you tomorrow (check your email) where you can get this delicious recipe for the Chocolate Decadent Mousse you see here. Yes, it’s even hormone-balancing!
Here are my top 10 Secrets for rekindling the fire, stoking the flame of desire, loving your body and his body, and living a juicier life that you can reminisce about later…much later. Say goodbye to boring!!

Love anyway. No matter what. You have complete control how you feel every moment of every day. Choose love.
-
Choose actions and habits that support your body and brain to feel love like eating well, getting enough rest, special body care (more on that below), exercise, nutrients, and meditation (click here for my favorite meditation video).
-
Be there by being a good listener. The best way is by repeating back what someone says. “What I heard you say is…Is that correct?”
-
Stop being right. Who cares. It takes us out of love.
-
Get your needs met by making powerful requests (i.e. ask for what you want). You can do this by saying: “I’d like to make a request…(and then state your request).” Your partner can say, “Yes”, “No” or make a counter offer. You have to be OK with whatever comes back.

Take care of your pelvic floor (vulva and vagina) like you would your face. You wouldn’t let your face dry up and atrophy right? You can use a 5mg DHEA capsule in your vagina daily (in the am or before bed) to restore hormonal balance (it also will help with incontinence). You can grab my favorite one here. Use coconut oil to keep the area moist and take plenty of fish oil – 4-8 caps daily of this one (click here) helps with hormone balance and moisture, especially in the winter. It will make your skin lovely everywhere and will also decrease inflammation and help to lower cholesterol. (If you can’t keep the DHEA capsule in, email me and I’ll give you another amazing solution.)

Have a regular date night and really make it fun and juicy. Mine is every Friday night and Eric and I alternate. It’s mostly time that we set aside for romance followed by a beautiful dinner that we usually make. Sometimes we go out to do something fun but the primary reason for date night is to make time for romance.

Be committed. If it’s important to you, put it on your calendar. If it’s not on your calendar it’s not going to happen.
-
During intimacy use healthy, lovely lubricants like coconut oil because it has to feel good. You can add some sensual essential oils like jasmine, neroli, rose, rosewood, sandalwood and ylang ylang – use ones that you love.
-
Touch yourself. This may sound crazy, but touching begets more touching. You have to stimulate yourself to get the blood flowing and once you do this on a regular basis your hormones will respond and you’ll want more. Trust me.
